Shecago

Standard

My 7-year-old daughter had an idea for a business. She wanted to open a store called Shecago and sell some clothes, jewelry, buttons, mugs,  candles and a few other things, keeping some profit for herself, and using some profit for charities aimed at women’s empowerment.

She gathered her pens, asked me how to spell “business,” and wrote up a business plan. Then she started making a variety of designs.

I thought about different ways we could make it work, but it seemed the easiest way, with the lowest startup cost, was to go through a drop ship website.

Thus, Shecago was born. Check out her merchandise, and buy something for yourself or as a gift if you see anything you like.

She has decided to donate a minimum of 10% of her profits to A Long Walk Home, a non-profit whose goal it is to end violence against women and girls.
