I bought a new sweater!
All I have to do is make it.
This sweater will be made with Malabrigo which means I’ll wear it once and wait a year before actually hand-washing it to wear it again. I’m also working on it as part of a Knit-A-Long (KAL) at Sifu Design Studio, which means several other people are working on the same sweater at the same time, so we can share tips and techniques and stay motivated. I’ll cast-on (start) just as soon as I finish
my mittens
clapotis
and a hat for baby John.
So as you can see, I will definitely have a new sweater just in time for August.
If I’m lucky.
You have to post a picture when you are done.
I will!
You and me both! I need to get the yarn for the yoke part of the sweater, then I am good to go. I will be using a nice grey wool for the body of it. Then you know what’s going to happen? We’ll finish these sweaters in August and curse the sun for making it too warm to wear our new sweaters. Ha!
Yay, I’m so glad you’re doing the kal too! What kind of yarn did you have for the body? Some from Gretchen?
I have this Galway worsted that I got in Ohio a couple years ago. I think I’ll use that for the body and get some nice contrasting colors in Cascade 220 for the yoke. http://www.ravelry.com/people/jozwitch/stash/galway-worsted
Like you color choices! Nice WIP’s too. Someday I might get to knitting a sweater for me again, perhaps by August as well? Working on a baby sweater at present…
Cool! Good luck with your baby sweater. š
I tend to always get my cold weather stuff done in the summer and my warm weather stuff in the winter…one of these days I will get it right. Good luck on your sweater.
Agreed. I was just talking to my friend (the one who made the cake) that knitting magazines should feature the opposite seasons that they are publishing.
Maybe if they did that we would actually get the knitting projects done in the right season. š
